2010కి ముందు నియమితులైన టీచర్లు ప్రస్తుతం ఏ హోదాలో ఉన్నారో, ఆ హోదాకు సరిపోయే టెట్ పేపర్ రాయాలి.
ఉదాహరణకు, ఎస్‌జీటీ నుంచి స్కూల్ అసిస్టెంట్ లేదా ప్రధానోపాధ్యాయుడిగా పదోన్నతి పొందిన వారు తమ ప్రస్తుత హోదాకు సంబంధించిన టెట్ పేపర్ రాస్తే సరిపోతుంది.

Thousands of in-service teachers across Andhra Pradesh are now applying for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) following the Supreme Court’s directive that teachers appointed before 2010 must qualify in TET to continue in their posts.
In response, the School Education Department issued a notification on October 24, allowing in-service teachers to take the test. The application deadline is November 28. As of Wednesday evening, 28,121 candidates have applied, including 3,461 in-service teachers.
According to the court’s order, teachers must clear the TET within two years, while those retiring within five years are exempted. However, TET qualification is mandatory for promotions.
Teachers expressed concern that even if the government files a review petition, it may not bring relief unless the Right to Education (RTE) Act is amended at the central level.
Syllabus Challenge
Teachers appointed before 2010 are finding the revised syllabus challenging. While some feel it’s tough, others say that being active in classrooms helps them adapt easily.
