హిందూపురం పట్టణ అభివృద్ధికి కౌన్సిలర్లు సహకరించాలని మున్సిపల్ చైర్మన్ రమేష్ పిలుపునిచ్చారు. గురువారం ఆయన అధ్యక్షతన మున్సిపల్ కౌన్సిల్ సమావేశం జరిగింది.
ఈ సందర్భంగా రమేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ,
“ఎమ్మెల్యే నందమూరి బాలకృష్ణ పట్టణ అభివృద్ధికోసం నిరంతరం కృషి చేస్తున్నారు. ఇప్పటికే రూ.92.5 కోట్ల నిధులతో రోడ్లు, డ్రైనేజీల నిర్మాణానికి టెండర్ ప్రక్రియ పూర్తయింది,” అని తెలిపారు.
అయితే సమావేశంలో వైసీపీ వైస్ చైర్మన్ బలరాంరెడ్డి, కౌన్సిలర్ ఆసిఫ్ మాట్లాడుతూ,
“హిందూపురం జిల్లా కేంద్రంగా మారాలి. ఇతర పట్టణాలతో పోలిస్తే హిందూపురం పెద్దది, అన్ని సౌకర్యాలు ఉన్నాయి,” అని డిమాండ్ చేశారు.
వైసీపీ సభ్యులు మాట్లాడుతూ,
“గతంలో ఎమ్మెల్యే బాలకృష్ణ అధికారంలోకి వస్తే హిందూపురాన్ని జిల్లాగా ప్రకటిస్తామని చెప్పారు. ఆ హామీని ఇప్పుడు నిలబెట్టుకోవాలి,” అని కోరారు.
దీనికి స్పందించిన చైర్మన్ రమేష్ మాట్లాడుతూ,
“జిల్లా కేంద్రం ఏర్పాటుపై ఎమ్మెల్యే ఒకే అభిప్రాయం కలిగి ఉన్నారు. వారం రోజుల్లో ఈ అంశంపై ప్రత్యేక సమావేశం ఏర్పాటు చేసి స్పష్టత ఇవ్వబడుతుంది,” అని చెప్పారు.
తరువాత అజెండాలోని 19 అంశాలను కౌన్సిల్ ఆమోదించింది.
ఈ కార్యక్రమంలో మున్సిపల్ కమిషనర్ మల్లికార్జున, ఎంఈ దస్తగిరి, డీఈ వాణి తదితరులు పాల్గొన్నారు.

Councillors Should Cooperate for the Development of Hindupur – Municipal Chairman Ramesh
Hindupur, October 30:
Municipal Chairman Ramesh urged councillors to cooperate in the development of Hindupur town. A municipal council meeting was held on Thursday under his chairmanship.
Ramesh said,
“MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna has been striving hard for the town’s development. The tender process for road and drainage works worth ₹92.5 crore has already been completed,” he stated.
During the meeting, YSRCP Vice Chairman Balaram Reddy and Councillor Asif demanded that Hindupur be made a district headquarters, stating that it is a major town with all required facilities compared to other towns.
YSRCP members reminded,
“MLA Balakrishna earlier assured that Hindupur would be declared a district if their party came to power. That promise should be fulfilled now,” they said.
Responding to this, Chairman Ramesh noted that the MLA shared the same opinion and added,
“A detailed discussion will be held within a week in a special meeting regarding the district headquarters issue.”
Later, the Council approved 19 agenda items.
Municipal Commissioner Mallikarjuna, E.M.E. Dastagiri, and D.E. Vani were among those present.
