Municipal Chairman Ramesh has instructed officials to take necessary actions to ensure that 15 million liters of water are supplied daily from the Gollapalli drinking water scheme. On Wednesday, he, along with officials, inspected the water purification plant located near Kotnuru in the town. He directed them to clean all the filter beds and ensure they are functioning properly. The officials also informed that repairs are being made to motors and pumps.
In the meeting, Ramesh noted that the town's water supply issue is growing day by day and warned that, without proper actions, it will be difficult to manage the wards. Councillors brought this issue to the Chairman’s and Commissioner’s attention. The Chairman held a meeting with the officials and councillors to discuss the water crisis. Complaints were raised by several councillors regarding the indifferent behavior of lower-level staff.
To resolve the issue permanently, Municipal Commissioner Srinivasulu and Engineer Mohan shared that a new pipeline project costing ₹120 crore is in the planning stage with the cooperation of MLA Balakrishna.

Additionally, residents of Bhagyangar Colony requested the Municipal Chairman to take steps for setting up a transformer. During his tour of 35 wards on Wednesday, the Chairman assured the residents that all necessary amenities would be provided, addressing their concerns about the lack of basic infrastructure.

Suresh Babu released the notification for the second-year degree semester exams on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, they mentioned that BA and BCom General students need to pay a fee of ₹815, while BSc Computer Science, BCom Computers, Biotechnology, BBA, and BCA students need to pay ₹1050. They further informed that the exam fee can be paid without a late fee until April 12. The exam timetable will be released on April 9.

Indian Maritime University (IMU) was established under the Ministry of Shipping in 2008, aiming to provide training and research in the maritime sector. Several courses are offered by IMU. Exam Pattern:
Each course has a separate entrance exam as per the technical or non-technical requirements of the course.
The exam is objective type, with 200 marks for UG technical programs (English, General Aptitude, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry) and 120 marks for other courses (Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, and Reasoning).

Common Counseling:
Based on IMU-CET ranks, counseling is conducted for admissions. Other entrance exams like CET (UG/PG), CAT, GATE, and MAT are also considered.

Career Opportunities:
Graduates from IMU campuses can work in key sectors like shipbuilding, ship design, ship operations, ship maintenance, cruise liners, and cargo logistics. Entry-level jobs offer a salary range from ₹40,000 to ₹50,000. Specialized roles like Deck Officer, Engineer, and Electro-Technical Officer are available in the Merchant Navy.

భారతీయ నౌకాయాన విశ్వవిద్యాలయం, తన క్యాంపస్‌లలో అందిస్తున్న బీటెక్, బీఎస్సీ, డిప్లొమా ఇన్ నాటికల్ సైన్స్, ఎం.టెక్, ఎంబీఏ కోర్సుల్లో ప్రవేశానికి ప్రతి ఏటా IMU-CET అనే ఉమ్మడి ప్రవేశ పరీక్షను నిర్వహిస్తుంది.

అర్హతలు:

బీ.ఎస్సీ/బీటెక్: 60% మార్కులతో ఇంటర్మీడియెట్ (MPC గ్రూప్)
ఎం.టెక్: సంబంధిత స్పెషలైజేషన్లో బీటెక్ 55% మార్కులతో
బీబీఏ: 60% మార్కులతో ఇంటర్మీడియెట్
ఎంబీఏ: 50% మార్కులతో బ్యాచిలర్ డిగ్రీ

పరీక్ష విధానం:
ప్రతి కోర్సుకు ప్రత్యేకంగా పరీక్ష నిర్వహించబడుతుంది. యూజీ టెక్నికల్ ప్రోగ్రామ్లకు 200 మార్కులతో పరీక్ష (ఇంగ్లిష్, జనరల్ ఆప్టిట్యూడ్, ఫిజిక్స్, మ్యాథమెటిక్స్, కెమిస్ట్రీ), ఇతర కోర్సుల కోసం 120 మార్కులతో పరీక్ష ఉంటుంది.

కౌన్సెలింగ్:
IMU-CET లో పొందిన ర్యాంకుల ఆధారంగా కౌన్సెలింగ్ నిర్వహించి ప్రవేశాలు అందిస్తారు. CET (UG/PG), CAT, GATE, MAT తదితర ప్రవేశ పరీక్షల ర్యాంకులను కూడా పరిగణనలోకి తీసుకుంటారు.

కెరీర్ అవకాశాలు:
IMU క్యాంపస్‌లలో బ్యాచిలర్, పీజీ కోర్సులు పూర్తిచేసిన వారికి షిప్ బిల్డింగ్, షిప్ డిజైన్, షిప్ ఆపరేషన్స్, షిప్ మెయింటెనెన్స్ వంటి విభాగాల్లో ఉద్యోగ అవకాశాలు లభిస్తాయి. డెక్ ఆఫీసర్, ఇంజనీర్, ఎలక్ట్రో-టెక్నికల్ ఆఫీసర్ వంటి ఉద్యోగాలు పొందవచ్చు.
