Indian Air Force Recruitment Rally for Airmen in Group 'Y' (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade

1. Invitation for Recruitment Rally: The Indian Air Force invites male Indian/Gorkha (Nepalese subject) candidates to attend a recruitment rally from 29th January 2025 to 6th February 2025, to join as Airmen in Group 'Y' (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant trade. The rally will be held at Maharaja's College Ground, PT Usha Road, Shenoys, Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala-682011 for Airmen Intake 02/2025.

2. Important Notice: Selection in the Indian Air Force is based on merit and is 'fair & transparent.' No bribes are needed at any stage of the selection process. Candidates should be cautious of fraudulent individuals posing as recruitment agents.

3. Eligibility Criteria and Rally Dates: Indian male candidates from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep are invited. The recruitment tests will be conducted on the following dates:

  • 29th to 30th January 2025 – Group 'Y' Medical Assistant (10+2 candidates)
    Reporting Date: 29th January 2025 Activities: Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Appointments For candidates from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka

  • 1st to 2nd February 2025 – Group 'Y' Medical Assistant (10+2 candidates)
    Reporting Date: 1st February 2025 Activities: Physical Fitness Test, Written Test, Adaptability Test-II, and Medical Appointments For candidates from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep

  • 4th to 5th February 2025 – Group 'Y' Medical Assistant (Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy)

4. Important Information:

  • Candidates should bring a recent eye prescription (within a month) if spectacles are used.
  • Corneal surgeries (LASIK/PRK) are not allowed.
  • The Indian Air Force follows a zero-tolerance policy towards alcohol consumption and substance abuse.
  • Permanent tattoos are not allowed, except for those on the inner forearms or as per tribal customs. Offensive or inappropriate tattoos are prohibited.

5. Medical & Physical Standards:

  • Candidates must meet specific physical and medical criteria such as height (minimum 152 cm), weight, chest measurements, hearing, and dental health. Full details on the physical and medical standards are provided in the official notice.

6. Documents Required: Candidates must bring original and self-attested copies of the following documents:

  • Recent passport-sized photographs
  • Educational certificates and marksheets
  • Domicile certificate (if applicable)
  • Discharge certificates (if applicable)
  • NCC certificates (if applicable)
  • Consent form (for candidates under 18 years)
  • Other relevant documents as specified in the official notice.

7. Eligibility for Married Candidates:

  • For candidates with 10+2 qualification: Unmarried candidates born between 3rd July 2004 and 3rd July 2008 are eligible.
  • For candidates with Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy: Unmarried candidates born between 3rd July 2001 and 3rd July 2006 are eligible, while married candidates born between 3rd July 2001 and 3rd July 2004 are eligible.

8. Enrolment and Training: Enrolment will be for an initial period of 20 years, extendable to 57 years based on service conditions. The candidates will undergo Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) and trade-specific training after successful completion. They will be posted as per the IAF's requirements after completing all training stages.

9. Pay & Allowances:

  • A stipend of ₹14,600 per month during training.
  • After training completion, the starting gross salary will be ₹26,900 per month, with additional allowances as per government instructions.

10. Beware of Impersonators: Impersonators will face legal action.

Note: Candidates must report by the specified times and follow all instructions carefully.

  1. Higher Education: Airmen are allowed to pursue higher education only after achieving the prescribed skill grade of 27 in their trade and completing the required years of service as outlined in the HRP.

  2. Perks: Airmen are entitled to various perks, including ration, clothing, medical facilities, accommodation, CSD facilities, leave (60 days annual and 30 days casual leave per calendar year, subject to service exigencies), recreational facilities, transport for school-going children, and Leave Travel Concession (LTC), as per existing rules. Additionally, a Group Insurance cover of ₹62.5 lakhs with a premium of ₹3,200 per month is provided to all Airmen, along with the option to participate in the Group Housing Scheme.

  3. Job Specifications for Medical Assistant Trade: As a Medical Assistant, you will be trained in nursing and first-aid, manage medical stores, dispensaries, and ward supervision, and perform other duties as assigned by the Air Force.

Note: Airmen may be required to undertake other tasks as directed by superior authorities.

SELECTION PROCEDURE

  1. Verification of Eligibility: Candidates must present original educational certificates (10th, 12th, and Degree/Diploma in Pharmacy, along with mark sheets), NCC certificates, Son of Serving Air Force Personnel (SOAFP) certificate, Discharge Book (if applicable), and other necessary documents such as passport-sized photographs and proof of domicile as per Para 5. These documents will be verified before the Physical Fitness Test. Any candidates failing to meet the educational or other criteria will be disqualified during initial or subsequent verifications.

Note: Original certificates will be returned to candidates after detailed verification.

Mobile Phones, Smart Watches, and Electronic Devices are prohibited in the testing areas. Candidates found with such devices will be permanently debarred.

  1. Provisional Select List (PSL): The PSL will be published on May 14, 2025, at the 14 Airmen Selection Centre, Kochi (Kerala), and will also be available on the Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) website (www.airmenselection.cdac.in). Inclusion in the PSL does not guarantee automatic enrollment. Enrollment is strictly based on merit, medical fitness, availability of vacancies, and eligibility criteria, including age limits: 21 years for candidates with 10+2 (Intermediate) and 24 years for candidates holding a Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy.

  2. Enrolment List: The final list of candidates selected for enrollment will be published on May 30, 2025. Call letters will be sent to candidates' email addresses and postal addresses.

  3. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): The PFT consists of a 1.6 km run to be completed in 7 minutes (for candidates aged 21 or younger) or 7 minutes 30 seconds (for candidates aged above 21 with a Diploma/B.Sc in Pharmacy), along with 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and 20 squats. Candidates must bring their own sports shoes and appropriate attire for the test.

  1. Written Test: Candidates who qualify the PFT will take an objective-type written test on the same day. The test will be bilingual (English and Hindi) except for the English paper. It will last for 45 minutes and will cover English (20 questions) based on the 10+2 CBSE syllabus, and Reasoning & General Awareness (RAGA) (30 questions). Candidates must qualify in both papers separately.

Marking Pattern:

  • 1 mark for each correct answer
  • No marks for unanswered questions
  • A deduction of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer or for multiple answers

  1. Adaptability Test-II: Candidates who pass the Written Test will take the Adaptability Test-II, designed to assess their ability to adapt to the Indian Air Force environment and military life.

  2. Medical Examination: Candidates passing the Adaptability Test-II will undergo a medical examination in February 2025 at 6 Air Force Hospital, Coimbatore. This examination includes a range of tests, including blood work, radiograph chest (PA view), ECG, and other necessary investigations.

  3. Appeal for Medical Unfitness: Candidates declared medically unfit can appeal to the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) by submitting the required documents within three working days. The AMB Centre will be located at SMC HQ (TC) Bengaluru.

  4. General Instructions:

  • Candidates must carry their AADHAAR Card as proof of identity or an alternative valid photo ID if Aadhaar is unavailable.
  • Candidates must be prepared to stay for the entire duration of the tests and bear their own expenses, as no TA/DA is provided.
  • Active email and mobile contact details are essential for communication throughout the selection process.
  • Impersonation or malpractices during the examination will result in permanent disqualification.
