📅 **Hyderabad:**
There are issues arising in the distribution of incentives for new employees joining the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF). The government provides an incentive under the Employees' Linked Incentive Scheme (ESI) to new employees, offering one month's salary (up to ₹15,000) in three installments. However, these incentives are being delayed as many employees are failing to complete the necessary process to activate their Universal Account Number (UAN).
💰 **Incentives & UAN Activation:**
To be eligible for this incentive, employees must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link their bank account with Aadhaar. But due to the failure of many employees to complete this process, the distribution of incentives is getting delayed.
📅 **Deadline: Complete by 15th of the month:**
EPFO has clearly stated that employees must complete the UAN activation and Aadhaar seeding process by the 15th of the month. If not, the incentives will not be disbursed.
🛡️ **EDLI Scheme:**
Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) scheme also applies to EPF subscribers. Under this, in case of the employee's death, the nominee can receive up to ₹7 lakh in insurance. However, claims under this scheme are being delayed due to the lack of Aadhaar seeding.
