వాణిజ్య కార్యకలాపాలను అనేక ప్రాంతాల్లో నిర్వహించే సంస్థలకు, ముఖ్యంగా బ్రాంచీలు, షోరూమ్‌లు కలిగిన సంస్థలకు ఒక చోటుండే సరుకును మరోచోటకు తరలించే అవసరం తరచూ ఎదురవుతుంది. ఉదాహరణకు పెద్ద సూపర్ మార్కెట్లు, ఎలక్ట్రానిక్‌ షోరూమ్‌లు, మొబైల్ స్టోర్లు మొదలైనవి సరుకును వేర్‌హౌస్ నుంచి అవసరమైన బ్రాంచీలకు తరలిస్తుంటాయి. దీనినే స్టాక్ ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్‌ అంటారు.
📌 స్టాక్ ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్‌పై జీఎస్టీ వర్తించుతుందా?
ఒకే రాష్ట్రంలోని బ్రాంచీల మధ్య సరుకు తరలింపుకు జీఎస్టీ వర్తించదు, ఎందుకంటే అవన్నీ ఒకే జీఎస్టీ రిజిస్ట్రేషన్ కింద ఉంటాయి. ఇలాంటి తరలింపులకు ఇన్వాయిస్‌ అవసరం లేదు, కానీ డెలివరీ చలాన్తో పాటు ఈ-వే బిల్ తప్పనిసరిగా జారీ చేయాలి.
రెండు వేర్వేరు రాష్ట్రాల్లోని బ్రాంచీల మధ్య స్టాక్ ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్‌ అయితే, అవి "డిస్టింక్ట్ పర్సన్స్‌"గా పరిగణించబడతాయి. ఈ తరలింపుపై జీఎస్టీ వర్తిస్తుంది. ఇక్కడ సరుకు విలువను రెండు విధాలుగా నిర్ణయించవచ్చు:

మార్కెట్ విలువ (Open Market Value) ఆధారంగా.

లేదా గరిష్ఠంగా 90% విలువను చూపించవచ్చు.
ఈ విలువపై చెల్లించిన జీఎస్‌టీని రిసీవింగ్ బ్రాంచీ ఇన్‌పుట్ ట్యాక్స్ క్రెడిట్ (ITC) రూపంలో పొందవచ్చు.
⚠️ అదనపు జాగ్రత్తలు:

ఒకే రాష్ట్రంలో అయినా రెండు వేర్వేరు జీఎస్టీ రిజిస్ట్రేషన్లు ఉంటే, స్టాక్ ట్రాన్స్‌ఫర్‌కు జీఎస్టీ వర్తిస్తుంది.

రెండు సందర్భాల్లోనూ ఈ-వే బిల్ తప్పనిసరి.

సరఫరా పొందే శాఖ ITC తీసుకునే అర్హత కలిగి ఉంటే, ఇన్వాయిస్‌లో చూపే విలువపై కఠినమైన నియమాలు ఉండవు.
Precautions to Take During Stock Transfer

Companies that operate across multiple locations—especially those with branches or showrooms—frequently need to transfer goods from one place to another. This could be from a warehouse to a store or from one branch to another. For example, supermarkets, electronics stores, and mobile retail chains store inventory centrally and dispatch it based on need. This movement is known as a stock transfer.
📌 Is GST Applicable on Stock Transfers?
When goods are moved within the same state between branches under a single GST registration, GST is not applicable. Instead of a tax invoice, such movements must be supported by a delivery challan and a mandatory e-way bill.
When goods are moved between branches in different states, even under the same PAN, GST is applicable, since these branches are treated as distinct persons under GST law.
There are two ways to declare the value for GST calculation:

Based on open market value.

Or declare 90% of the price at which the receiving branch sells the goods to customers.
The receiving branch can claim Input Tax Credit (ITC) on the GST paid.
⚠️ Additional Precautions:

Even within a single state, if there are multiple GST registrations, GST must be paid on stock transfers.

E-way bills are mandatory in both intra-state and inter-state transfers.

If the receiving branch is eligible for full ITC, then invoice value flexibility is permitted.
