The Fisheries Department of Eluru district has invited applications from interested candidates for training in fish farming at the Inland Fisheries Development Training Centre located in Badampudi. According to a statement by K.S.V. Nagalingacharyulu, the Eluru District Fisheries Officer, candidates should have completed at least the 5th grade, be able to read and write in Telugu, and be aged between 18 and 30 years. The selection committee may relax the age limit under special consideration. Candidates are required to submit experience certificates from the Fisheries Department along with their application. The training is open to fishermen, youth, fishermen's cooperatives, and individuals from SC, ST, and other social categories from the coastal districts. No stipendiary support will be provided during the training. A total of 20 seats are available. » Three-Tier Selection Process

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the Civil Services Preliminary Examination 2025 notification. Through this, 979 posts will be filled in prestigious services such as IAS (Indian Administrative Service), IFS (Indian Foreign Service), IPS (Indian Police Service), and other top-level services. UPSC will accept applications for the Civil Services Prelims from January 22 to February 11. The preliminary exam will be held on May 25. Additionally, UPSC has also released a separate notification for the recruitment of 150 posts in the Indian Forest Service. The last date for applications for this is also February 11.

**Eligibility Criteria**

▪ Candidates wishing to apply for Civil Services Prelims must have a Bachelor's degree in any discipline or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university. Final-year students are also eligible to apply.

▪ Age: Candidates should be between 21 and 32 years of age as of August 1, 2025. Age relaxation is available for SC/ST candidates (5 years) and OBC candidates (3 years).

**Selection Process**

UPSC follows a three-stage process for selecting candidates for Civil Services.

1. **Preliminary Examination**: The preliminary exam will be conducted in an objective format for a total of 400 marks. There will be two objective papers, each carrying 200 marks. Candidates who perform well in the prelims will be selected for the Mains examination.

2. **Main Examination**: The second stage, the Main exam, will be conducted in a descriptive format. It includes an English language paper, a local language paper (300 marks each), and an essay paper. These are qualifying papers and their marks will not be considered in the final ranking. In addition, there will be four General Studies papers, and two papers on an optional subject, each carrying 250 marks, totaling 1750 marks. Candidates who perform well in the Mains will be selected for the Interview/Personality Test. The Interview is worth 275 marks.
