Dharamavaram Urban: CDPO Lakshmi announced on Friday that applications are invited for vacant Anganwadi Worker and Helper posts under the Dharamavaram ICDS Project.

**They Can Register for JEE-Advanced: Supreme Court**  

**New Delhi:** The Supreme Court has refused to intervene in the decision of the Joint Admission Board (JAB) to allow candidates to attempt the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE)-Advanced, which provides entry into undergraduate courses in IITs, only twice.  

A bench comprising Justice B.R. Gavai and Justice Augustine George Masih heard petitions on Friday challenging the sudden reduction of JEE-Advanced attempts from three to two. The bench clarified that candidates who dropped out of their courses between November 5 and 18, 2024, can register for the JEE-Advanced 2025 examination. The court issued an order to this effect. Candidates expressed concerns that they are at a disadvantage due to the reduction in the number of attempts.  

 

JEE Advanced 2025: No Third Attempt – Supreme Court Decision

The Supreme Court has upheld the decision that candidates can attempt the JEE Advanced exam only twice instead of three times. Several students challenged this change after IIT Kanpur initially announced on November 5, 2023, that candidates could attempt the exam three times but later reversed the decision on November 18, 2023 following the Joint Admission Board (JAB)'s directive.

Hearing the case on January 10, 2025, the Supreme Court ruled that it would not interfere with JAB's decision. However, it provided relief for students who dropped out of IIT courses between November 5 and 18, 2024, allowing them to register for JEE Advanced 2025.

Background of the Controversy

• IIT Kanpur initially allowed three attempts for JEE Advanced on November 5, 2023.
• JAB reversed this decision on November 18, 2023, limiting attempts back to two.
• Several students protested, arguing that sudden eligibility changes affected their chances of securing an IIT admission.
• The petitioners claimed that the decision was unfair and violated natural justice principles.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2025

• Candidates can attempt the exam twice:
  1. The year they pass their Class 12 (Intermediate) exam.
  2. The following year.
• Only students who pass Class 12 (or equivalent) in March 2024 or March 2025 are eligible.
• Students who passed before March 2024 are not eligible.

The JEE Advanced exam, conducted since 2013, determines admissions to undergraduate programs at IITs. The 2025 exam is scheduled for May, and students must meet the latest eligibility requirements to apply.
