Internet Desk: To encourage meritorious girl students who are the only child of their parents, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a special initiative called the Single Girl Child Merit Scholarship. For the academic year 2025, applications have been invited online. Eligible girl students who have passed Class 10 and are currently studying in Class 11 in CBSE-affiliated schools can apply online till October 23, 2025. Students already receiving this scholarship can also apply for renewal.
📌 Eligibility & Key Details

Must have secured at least 70% marks in Class 10 Board Examination.

The applicant must be studying in Class 11 or 12 in a CBSE-affiliated school.

Selected students will receive ₹1000 per month for two years, credited directly into their bank accounts.

Tuition fee should not exceed ₹2500 per month for Class 10 and ₹3000 per month for Class 11 & 12.

NRI students studying in CBSE schools are also eligible, provided their monthly tuition fee does not exceed ₹6000.

Renewal for Class 12 requires a minimum of 70% marks in Class 11.

### Second Phase Degree Admissions Schedule
Amaravati, September 24 (Andhra Jyothy): The Higher Education Council on Wednesday released the schedule for the second phase of degree admissions.
* **Registration:** Students can register from September 26 to 29.
* **Certificate Verification:** Certificate verification will take place from September 27 to 29.
* **Web Options:** Web options can be selected from September 29 to October 1.
* **Option Changes:** Options can be modified on October 3.
* **Seat Allotment:** Seat allotment will be done on October 6.
* **Reporting at Colleges:** Students are advised to report to their respective colleges on October 7 and 8.
In the first phase, 1,30,265 seats were allotted, and 1,22,955 students have reported to their colleges. An additional 7,310 students are yet to report. The Higher Education Council has stated that students who did not upload their certificates in the first phase can now do so and will be allotted seats in the second phase.
